British Grove Records
« on: March 17, 2015, 10:34:23 PM »
I notice on the new album, next to the Verve logo, there is a logo for "British Grove Records".  I believe I've seen the logo for British Grove STUDIOS on one of the other albums (don't remember which one), but this is the first sign for me that MK has his own record company.  I'm just curious as to what this means.  It's different from Verve, and from his publisher.

Anybody know how this setup works?

I haven't looked but I can't recall another of Mk's solo albums ever having BGR on them....

I hope someday Mark will open his own guitar making company. That would be nice!

Yes, but isn't he had a record label for all this time, too? ;D

True, but that is a business and even he has to pay to record there too.....

Well, technically maybe yes. But if Mark owes the Grove all by himself then it doesn´t matter.

Labelling this Tracker album the first album on "British Grove Records" for me has the very pleasant message that there are obviously other albums planned to be released. That's not totally a given. He obviously has absolutely no thoughts about ending it all. Great attitude.

When the Privateering interviews came up where he talks about so many songs in his books and therefore a double album and stuff, I had a slightly fearful feeling that he might start "clean house" so to say - and that we might see an end soon. But with planing days off into the tour schedule just to be able to write more let things appear very creative and energized. Wow, Mark!

Yeah, have the same thoughts that make me a happy microphone, too.

Judging from the Bridport show Ingridsong and I attended in 2013 and then watching the 24 min long dvd, MK has said he has 'stashes' of tunes/music in his laptop just waiting for the moment!!

I think there is much more to come from the master..........

I hope so Knopflerfan. Sometimes it crosses my mind that because this is the tracker of his life it could be the last one. But on the other hand, he is writing more and more last years, so I hope his health will be excellent, his mind full of songs and his energy enough to give us more music and tours
