Can't argue with what you've said there...

Interesting though that the shirts were so successful. In addition, it seems as if some management of other were very heavy-handed, as it wasn't a money-making scheme and that we'd have still proceeded to buy official merchandise as well...

Seems like classic refusal to just let the fans be fans...

agreed. The t-shirts are pretty cheaply done, enough washing will fade them quite easily (well, that's what happened to mine years ago), and cost a fortune. Plus, the design of some of the official t-shirts is, in my opinion, not very good.

Cd's for sale were Bo Ramsey's; Pieta Brown's and Guy's Natural Selection. Richard's cd's weren't there due to some retailing issue with companies

Tour programme is always a must for me.
I think the tour t.shirts from his solo career have not been to great imo. (Quality & design)
My faves are from the Straits days, and they've lasted well too.

In 1996 the fake t-shirts outside the venue were far better than the official ones!!!

Althought they had at the back US tour dates that, as everybody knows, it never happened LOL

If enough people chipped in, would it not be an idea to have a custom-made t-shirt? It would certainly be a lot cheaper! The "official" stuff is very much overpriced. For people like me who can only just afford a ticket, getting extra merchandise is out of the question...

Its a good idea but we've been here before, just ask Gayle :o :o  She got Knopflerado Tshirts made up for the SL tour I think ::) so that fans would recognise each other at gigs.It was such a success that she / us decided to get them done again for the KTGC tour & the next thing she knew she was being threatened with legal action for copywrite issues if she proceeded so that idea got shelved & fast :-[ :-[ In fairness to her & everone involved it wasn't a money making racket & she wasn't making anything out of it,probably a loss if the truth was known but MK's management werent having any of it,full stop :disbelief :disbelief

Gayle actually managed to sort out KNOPFLERADO t-shirts for two tours and a fantastic job she did as well.I will try and post pictures of both if i can find them and then figure out how to post pictures on here

Gayle did a lot of work to order all the shirts (I think it were only 50) for the forum members for the KTGC Tour in 2008. The shirt was designed by another fan (I forgot his name, sorry) and we all liked the t-shirt of Mark

Just before the shirts would be sent by Gayle (USA) to many fans around the world, she got a nasty mail of the management! It was a shock to read what they said and what could happen if she would send them to the fans!! All what the fans wanted, was a good quality shirt to show we were big fans of Mark and to recognize each other at concerts, because only forum member would wear them!

I dislike a lot this paranoia regarding t-shirts, I

T shirts:  Men's: $35 American dollars    Women's:   $40.    Men's are in the middle of the photos we have.   Women's are on the right.
Programs:   $15.00
CDs:  $15.00
Buttons:  $10. for a pack of four cheapies--Not the nice ones from the KTGC tour.
Signed poster:  $100.00
Keychains: $15.00
Bag:  $15.   I think.
I think there were coasters and other stuff.  But I was interested only in a program, a shirt, and the buttons.
But a spoonful of forgiveness
Goes a long, long way
And we all should do our best

Thank you for the list IrisRose!  :-*

I wonder why people can't order the T-shirts before concerts in the store at Mark's official site!  ???

When people who like to have a shirt of the GL Tour would be able to buy one before the concert, they could wear that one! ;D

The only answer that cames to my mind is that I do miss Ed Bicknell a lot.

I totally agree!! The promotion during the STP tour was WAY better, too...
As for the shirts, personally I prefer the official ones but I like fan made shirts too, if they're nicely done.
